SACRAMENTAL LIFE

Infant Baptism

Those wishing to have their child baptised should please contact the parish office and seek an appointment with the parish priest.

Normally baptisms take place in the parish where a family is resident.

You may not live in St. Mary's parish but have a good reason for wanting to have your child baptised here. In such cases your own parish priest will need to give permission for the baptism to take place at St. Mary's.

Adult Baptism & Confirmation

If you're an adult thinking about becoming Catholic, The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is for you. Contact the RCIA coordinator at the parish office for more information.

First Holy Communion & Confirmation

Registration is usually during the summer holiday and the programme begins after the start of the September school term for children in Year 3 and above. Click the following links to view the programme for each year: Pre-CommunionHoly CommunionPost-Communion I, Post-Communion II, Confirmation I and Confirmation II

Confession

Confession is held at St. Mary's every Saturday between 12:00pm and 1:00pm and at St. Columba's every Thursday between 10:45am and 11:45am. Otherwise confessions can always be arranged by appointment.

Marriage

Engaged couples need to meet with the parish priest to gather the necessary documents, and attend a Marriage Preparation Programme. Please arrange an appointment at the parish office.

Visits to the Sick

If you are seriously sick, or have a Catholic relative or friend who is, or are going into hospital for an operation which could be life-threatening, please contact one of the Fathers who will arrange to give you the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick
