Commentary for Palm Sunday

The Lord enters into Jerusalem amidst loud acclaim of praise: "Blessed be the king who cometh in the name of the Lord". But five days later, the very same people who welcomed Jesus with joy would shout: "Let him be crucified". Such is the human heart, very fickle. The celebration of this Sunday presents to us the twofold meaning of the Procession of the Palms: "It is not enough to accompany Jesus in His triumph; we must follow Him in His Passion".

Rosary on the Coast of the British Isles

This great initiative has recently received the support of Bishop Philip Egan of Portsmouth Diocese. These are the are the words of our dear bishop: "I am happy to support your initiative. Thank you for this important witness to the Truth of faith in Christ and to the power of prayer which by God’s grace will surely bring much goodness. Our culture is facing so many challenges at this moment, not least to the sound values that underpin our family and social life. May Mary’s prayers win our land back to the Lord. May God bless this work and bring it to a good outcome".
