Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Part IV

We all need to adore Our Blessed Lord in the Holy Eucharist, as it is our greatest treasure. The Eucharist is threefold: it is a presence in the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle; it is a sacrifice upon the altar in the Holy Mass; and it is a union with Jesus in our body and soul with Holy Communion. All we can do is thank God (Eucharist means thanksgiving) and adore Him, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Blessed Eucharist

Fr. Linus Clovis: Our Lady of Revelation at Tre Fontane

In this article, Fr. Linus Clovis explores the connection between the Fatima apparitions and those of Our Lady of Revelation thirty years later at Tre Fontane to 34-year old Bruno Cornacchiola.

Catechism on the Blessed Virgin Mary

The most important event narrated in the gospel after that of the Annunciation was the Visitation of Our Blessed Lady to St Elizabeth. The Virgin had learnt from the Angel that God had granted Zechariah the grace of a child; and now, Elizabeth, whom all considered sterile, was already in the sixth of her pregnancy. Forgetting herself, Our Lady decided to run to the aid of her old relative, facing a long and tiring journey, which was full of risks and discomforts.

This article is taken from the book, "Who is Mary?", written by Fr. Gabriele M. Pellettieri.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

On Thursdays, in St. Mary's Church, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed from 8:00am and will continue for the whole day, concluding with the Pro-Life Holy Hour at 7:00pm. Also, in St. Columba's Church, every Thursday, there is Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 10:00am Mass until 12 noon.

You can also tune in live to Radio Immaculata and participate in the Pro-Life Holy Hour live from St. Mary's Church at 7:00pm.

St. Mary's Renovations

Thank you to everyone who has made a contribution to the St Mary’s Beautification Fund, which currently stands at about £16,000. If you have not yet made a donation, please consider doing so, as we are still a long way from reaching our fundraising goal. Cheques should be made payable to “PRCDTR–Gosport”.

The Most Precious Blood of Jesus

From the time of the Passion, when Christ poured out His Blood for our salvation, the faithful have practised devotion to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. Holy Mother Church encourages us to honour the Precious Blood at all times, but especially during the month of July. Consider making an act of love to the Precious Blood every day this month, such as the Act of Consecration to the Precious Blood of Jesus or the Litany of the Precious Blood.

Adoration Outreach

Every Thursday, between 1pm and 3pm, a group of parishioners go out onto the High Street to invite passers-by into St Mary’s to light a candle and spend some time in the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. This has proven to be a very successful outreach, and a highly rewarding ministry for those involved. If you are available on Thursday afternoons, if only for half an hour or so, why not come along and take part?

Parish Walking Pilgrimage

August 18, 2018

Over the weekend of 18th/19th August, Father Pio will be leading a pilgrimage along the Way of Saint Augustine, a path that runs from Canterbury Cathedral to the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate, to commemorate the ancient journey undertaken by St Augustine, the Apostle of England, in the 6th Century, when he was sent by Pope Gregory the Great to bring the Faith to England. The walk is around 19 miles long, along which we will recite the Holy Rosary, sing hymns and have the chance to speak with others. Then, on arriving at the Shrine of St Augustine, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered. This pilgrimage is open to all who are able to maintain a good walking pace over the required distance. For more details, to sign up, or kindly to sponsor the walk, please speak to Father Pio or call the parish office on 02392 580119. The cost of the pilgrimage is £20 per person.
