Commentary for Pentecost Sunday

With just a few days to go to the Ireland abortion referendum, Fr. George, in his commentary for Pentecost Sunday, invokes the intercession of Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, so that the Irish nation will be able to understand the terrible consequences of permitting abortion in Ireland.

Catechism on the Blessed Virgin

The Annunciation is the most important event in Our Lady’s life and in the history of man. It recalls, in fact, the Incarnation of the Son of God in the most pure womb of Mary. Mary was the creature predestined by God to be Mother of the Saviour and to give a human body to the Son of God.

Irish Abortion Referendum

Next Friday, 25th May, Ireland will go to the polls to vote in a national referendum on the legal status of abortion. The life of the unborn child is currently protected under the 8th Amendment of the Irish Constitution, but this is now under threat. Please join the “Eight Hours to Save the Eighth” campaign of Eucharistic Adoration at St Mary’s Church, from 10pm on Thursday to 6am on Friday, by signing up for an hour or more. There is a sign-up sheet at the front of the church, or you can sign up online: There will also be a special Stations of the Cross at 3pm on the Friday. Your prayers and sacrifices are so much needed in this eleventh hour, so please take part in any way you can, even if simply by spending just a few minutes on the day to implore the intercession of Our Lady of Knock.

International Pro-Life Holy Hour

On Thursday April 12th, the Pro-Life Movement of St. Mary's Church launched a weekly live-streamed International Holy Hour to pray for the ending of abortion. The initiative was also featured in an article on In the words of Fr. Serafino M. Lanzetta, “Our pro-life Holy Hour is an initiative aiming at creating a chain of people around the world to pray together for the sake of human life so that it might be acknowledged by everyone as a mystery, naturally and supernaturally, to be honoured and respected”.

Join us at St. Mary's Church every Thursday from 7:00pm to 8:00pm to pray for the ending of abortion. You can also tune in live to Radio Immaculata and participate in the Holy Hour.
